Food Tasting Explorers

Students explore the wonderful world of fresh & healthy food during this fun-filled incursion. 

This incursion involves students using their senses & learning about different tastes and textures in a safe & structured environment.  

Students investigate where plant foods come from and how they are changed during processing.

What's included:

  • 50 minute incursion for Prep - Grade 6

  • Food items for students to taste & explore

  • Hands-on experience for all learning styles

  • Handouts for teachers & families

  • Follow up activities for students

  • Links to the Victorian Curriculum

FOOD, BODY & MIND

This game-based incursion helps students develop their food literacy and identify what foods are best for their body and mind.

 

Students learn how to pack a healthy lunchbox and identify the difference between fresh, whole foods and common processed foods.

There is a focus on how our body grows and develops and the ways food impacts our brain and mood. 

 

What's included:

  • 50 minute game-based incursion for Grade 2 - 6

  • Real food items for students to investigate

  • Hands-on experience for all learning styles

  • Handouts for teachers & families

  • Follow up activities for students

  • Links to the Victorian Curriculum

Students investigate food nutrition labels and learn to identify the sugar, salt and saturated fat content in common foods during this game-based incursion. 

This incursion helps students develop their food literacy and identify how food advertising influences our food choice and health.  

Students investigate the different between fresh, whole foods and common processed foods.
